However, if you aim to lose just a few extra kilos and feel better for the beach dressing, you can still do it in a healthy way. Losing up to a maximum of 500/700 grams per week is an achievable goal without too much effort and mortification.
What to eat to lose weight?
A summer diet should be enriched with fibre, vitamins, minerals and enzymes, found in seasonal vegetables and fruit. These will help to promote cell renewal in the body and stimulate the metabolism.
We advise you to eat at least 5 portions of vegetables a day, preferably seasonal fruit and vegetables! A good habit for the summer diet is to start lunch with a portion of salad or a vegetable dish. It will help to increase the feeling of fullness and reduce the glycaemic index of foods.
Remember, also, to respect the rule of drinking at least two litres of water a day, a rule that becomes even more important in summer to replenish the minerals that the body loses with increased sweating.
The importance of physical activity
If you want to lose a few extra kilos and feel better in the summer, physical activity should be a routine.
We recommend that you opt for a cardio workout. This is a light training that produces cardiovascular wellbeing and, and have to be practised at least 3 times a week. Increases the metabolism even when resting. This means that even when you are not exercising, your body is burning calories.
